Dresser re-do: phase 4 (the final phase!)

Sand, paint, sand, stain, distress, paint, add hardware and admire finished work.  This is the basic series I've gone through with this bedroom dresser.  I'm beyond pleased with the final result and am happy to say my client (hi, mom!) loves it even more than I do (which was the main goal).  It took a week to complete and the polyurethane coat is still drying but I'm really excited to share the newly refinished piece in today's post.  Needless to say, it was a huge transformation.

Phase 4 consisted of installing the new hardware and coating the top with polyurethane.  Phase 4 also brings this project to a close.  So, without further ado, I present to you my latest creation.

Read about phase 1, phase 2 and phase 3.

  6. Just seeing this now. Thanks for the inspiration. I have my grandmothers dresser that is about the same style as your original. Same pulls on it & everything. Just the draws are configured differently. I've wanted to redo it for sometime but couldn't think how to do it. I love the natural wood ontop & the white on the bottom. The new pulls are really nice too. I'm gonna have to try this. Or something like it.
