Summer wedding perfection

Ah, yes, love is in the air and summer wedding season is in full force. This past weekend, I had the joy of attending the wedding of my two friends, Brian and Jess. The reception and ceremony took place outside at an open field in Pennsylvania. The weather was perfectly sunny and warm.

The alter at the ceremony was handmade out of wood by Jess and her father (very crafty, indeed!). The guests were seated on hay bales and watched as the wedding party entered the aisle through two freestanding doors.

As for the reception, it was country-chic perfection.  The tables were adorned with wheat grass centerpieces, flowers in mix-n-match bottles and tiny potted herbs for each guest to take home as a wedding favor. My favorite piece of decor was the bride and groom's table. Wooden blocks letters spelled "love" and rested on vintage wooden crates. The entire setting for the wedding was charming and romantic.
