Review: Warby Parker

Glasses are cool.  No, really. Take a walk around Brooklyn and you'll see all the hipsters wearing them... even if they have 20/20 vision. I, unfortunately, was not blessed with perfect vision and have been wearing nerd spectacles since 2nd grade (I still remember my first pair... they were purple). Even though I converted to contact lenses my senior year of high school, I still sport my specs on occasion.

The last time I purchased eyeglasses was over 6 years ago, so I was definitely due for an update.  As my fellow brethren of hindered eyesight would most likely agree, picking out a new pair of glasses in a store can be torture. Wouldn't it be nice to try on frames within the comfort of your own home (sans pesky salesperson), demo them for a few days and gather consensus from friends and family on which pair suits you best?

(Cue super hero music) Warby Parker home try-on program to the rescue!
Here are the deets:
  • Choose 5 pairs of eyeglasses on the WP website
  • Warby Parker ships the sample frames to you
  • Try them out for 5 days
  • Ship everything back w/ pre-paid return label
  • IT'S 100% FREE
Free... yes, free! And you aren't obligated to purchase any of the frame styles you try on. Even better, if you do decide you love the frames, you can order them for $95, which includes the prescription lenses and free shipping/returns.

Clockwise from top left: Sims, Huxley, Leigh, Zagg, Finn

For me, it was a toss up between the Sims, Leigh and Finn. In an attempt to look stylish, I ultimately decided on the Sims in burgundy fade. Warby Parker's ordering process was seamless and I received my new prescription glasses within 8 days!

No, this is not a sponsored post... I just really loved my experience and wanted to share.

  1. Lauren, the frames look great! I will try this out, as I am also due for an update on my glasses, which i wear more often than contacts! See you soon! Christina E

  2. I liked the Sims best on you, too! :) Good choice. I'm having a hard time finding warbys that I like on me - I've got a hard face to fit glasses to, though. I've got a heart shaped face with high cheek bones, and so all of the big chunky ones look silly on me. Hoping to find one that really works. I love the company and the way they do things!
