Handmade Wedding Gift

In addition to another (less personal) gift, I wanted to give Karley and Jimmy a wedding present crafted by yours truly.  Why not, right?  I figured a set of crafted coasters would be a nice addition to their home.  The biggest challenge was coming up with a theme for the images.  I wanted it to touch them on a personal level but didn't want to do something cheesy like plastering their faces on the tiles.  In the end, I conjured up the genius idea of mapping out their relationship by location.  They met in NYC, currently reside in San Francisco and are honeymooning in Rome.  Such a great mix of places to create coasters out of, which will remind them of how their path in life together began.  I hope they love them!

I painted the bottom and side of the tiles a shimmery gold color:

I used Hard Coat Mod Podge to waterproof the images:

Linking up to the following parties: New Nostalgia, Silly Little Sparrow, Its So Very Cheri, DIY Showoff, All Thingz Related and Sugar Bee.
